Basic Function: The Houston Texans are seeking a Performance Sous Chef to join our Performance Kitchen Team. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to athlete performance, health, and recovery through high-quality, performance-driven meals and culinary excellence.
Job Function (Duties & Responsibilities):
* Lead and execute dinner meal service with a focus on quality, consistency, and performance nutrition.
* Collaborate on menu development with the Executive Performance Sous Chef and Director of Team Wellness.
* Mentor and train hourly culinary staff, ensuring high culinary standards.
* Support meal services across all meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
* Participate in team travel feeding operations, including pre-travel planning, action station management, and post-game meal distribution.
* Assist in developing culinary education programs for players, staff, and families.
* Build relationships with local and regional food purveyors to create avenues for players and families to purchase high-quality ingredients.
* Manage procurement, inventory, and food safety systems to ensure operational excellence.
* Contribute to sustainability initiatives through waste reduction and recycling programs.
* Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Team Wellness.
Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.

* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexible work hours (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
Education/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
* High School Diploma required.
* Minimum three to five (3-5) years professional culinary experience in high-volume kitchens.
* ServeSafe Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
