Loss Control Coordinator is essential to effectively administering the loss control programs in American Red Cross Biomedical Services; supporting return to work initiatives. This position will provide support to Biomedical Services operating units
nationwide in the delivery of essential loss control services which directly impact the prevention and cost of losses.
The Loss Control Coordinator is responsible for assisting all Biomedical Services business units in recognizing their exposures. The Loss Control Coordinator will report directly to the Loss Control Officer. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), American Red Cross Blood Services (ARCBS) requirements, and other applicable federal, state and local regulations
Responsibilities
Scope: Works independently with minimal supervision and exercises professional judgment. Plans own work and set priorities within guidelines. Interacts with all levels of staff and management. Responsible for decisions which may have financial impacts on the organization. Work closely with all applicable stakeholders staff to facilitate early job re-entry for injured Biomedical Services workers.
Qualifications: Practical skills and knowledge of loss control rules and regulations required.
Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: The duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Must be able to lift or move up to 30 pounds of weight; reach, bend, kneel, climb, push and pull; work in tight spaces. Work with a variety of tools and equipment.
Exposure levels are based on the essential functions as stated in this position description; however, in some instances, variances may occur due to the applicable nature of this position within a particular work site. Therefore the work site may determine the exposure level to be greater than or less than the below stated level.
This position is an Exposure Determination 0 in view of the fact that normal work involves no exposure to blood or blood components and/or human body fluids or tissue samples as a result of splashes, spills, and/or needlesticks or performance of or assistance in first aid
* Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

PAY INFORMATION: The annual salary range for this position is $52,000 - $62,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**
