Principal Architect - ServiceNow - Remote Available

Base pay range: $138,400.00/yr - $179,900.00/yr

Location: USA Home Office Framingham, MA (770 Cochituate Rd). This position has a starting salary range and may be eligible for incentives as described by the company.

What Youll Do

  • Define and evolve the enterprise ServiceNow platform architecture and roadmap aligned with business needs.
  • Lead the architecture and design of solutions across ServiceNow modules (ITOM, ITBM/PPM, HRSD, CSM, ITAM, GRC, SecOps, Integration Services, Intelligence & AI, ITSM/DevOps, etc.).
  • Own platform standards, design patterns, reusable components, and architectural governance.
  • Evaluate and drive adoption of new ServiceNow capabilities and releases.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across ServiceNow projects.
  • Lead high-level design, integration patterns, and performance/scalability best practices.
  • Partner with ServiceNow developers, product owners, business analysts, and project teams.
  • Ensure adherence to platform best practices, security, data model integrity, and upgradeability.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Partner with enterprise architects and other platform architects to ensure ServiceNow is well integrated within the enterprise ecosystem.
  • Influence and educate senior leadership on the capabilities and value of ServiceNow.
  • Define and enforce architectural governance processes and design review boards.
  • Support the definition and optimization of the Platform team operating model.
  • Promote DevOps and CI/CD practices to deliver high quality, secure, and resilient solutions.
  • Develop reusable frameworks, reference architectures, and design templates.
  • Mentor ServiceNow engineers and technical leads; foster a community of practice for ServiceNow teams.
  • Stay abreast of new ServiceNow product offerings, trends, and emerging technologies.

What Youll Need
  • 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years of deep experience in ServiceNow platform architecture and solution design.
  • Proven track record architecting large-scale, complex ServiceNow implementations across multiple modules.
  • Expertise in core ServiceNow components: Service Catalog, Workflow, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, CMDB, Discovery, Performance Analytics, Custom Apps, etc.
  • Strong understanding of ITSM, ITOM, CSM, GRC, or other key ServiceNow modules.
  • Experience with integration design patterns and technologies (REST, SOAP, JDBC, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, security, and data governance.
  • Hands-on development experience (JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting, ServiceNow Studio/App Engine).
  • ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA), ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder influencing skills.
  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills
  • ServiceNow CAD certification is preferable.
  • Experience designing multi-instance or global ServiceNow deployments.
  • Exposure to SAFe Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of complementary platforms (Workday, Azure/Cloud, etc.).
