School Crossing Guard

Position Description
This position is responsible for directing traffic in school crossing zones for the protection of children going to and leaving from a public or private primary or secondary school. School crossing guards also assist children in developing safe crossing habits and teach them of the potential hazards of crossing streets. Crossing guards report to the School Crossing Guard Supervisor. As needed during the school year when primary guards are unavailable.

What We're Looking For

• Ability to understand and follow the school crossing guard guidelines provided by the city and state.
• Ability to maintain an effective relationship with school children, parents, other members of the public, and the police department.

Additional Information
Typical work schedule: Mornings and afternoons, Monday - Friday.
